Meet Alex Leggat

As an I.T. professional with a drive to evolve with the rapid changes of the technical environment, I strive to continuously develop my skills, aspiring to grow as a leader in my field. Throughout my twenty years of experience in desktop support working for domestic and international companies both in the United Kingdom and New Zealand. My approach to logical problem solving has consistently delivered results at the highest professional standards. An enthusiastic worker, I thrive as a team member and am highly analytical, a self-learner with a passion for technology, I have been a field engineer through out my career and support client’s on-site. 

Summary of UK & NZ experience:

My roles have involved implementing security policies, supporting lab environments, ensuring data integrity, and providing level 1 to 3 support, ensuring minimal service disruption and high standards of IT service delivery. I have extensive experience in Helpdesk/Desktop and Infrastructure Support across various roles and teams, supporting large user bases. I managed over 1100 users, handling break/fix calls, LAN configurations, Active Directory, data protection, hardware/software support, print queue management, and system integrity with industry tools. I have led a team supporting 300+ clients across the UK and Europe, updating systems, managing network security, and supporting Windows, Apple, android and iOS devices. My responsibilities have included troubleshooting, image creation, remote access support, and deploying security encryption software. I have managed equipment upgrades, data backup, fault diagnosis, repair, and supported Apple Macs. I have contributed to support knowledge bases and ensured data protection compliance. Additionally, I have supported over 200 staff in New Zealand and other international teams, managing 300 end-user machines and 1200 virtual lab servers, deploying and configuring new devices, maintaining compliance, performing hardware audits, and supporting Office 365. I have experience with office moves, liaising with vendors, and maintaining knowledge base documentation.
